Marcelo Moncayo Theurer, M.Sc. TUM

Civil engineer, scientific researcher and tenured professor with over 25 years of experience. He studied at Technische Universität München (TUM) — Germany's #1 engineering university and the 7th best in the world for engineering — earning his M.Sc. in Computational Mechanics.

His training continued in Japan, at the University of Tokyo, the Building Research Institute (BRI) and IISEE, where he specialised in earthquake engineering and structural dynamics. Today he is Scientific Director of the THEK Research Institute and a tenured professor, and knows the German university system first-hand, having graduated from it.
